As participants tee off and navigate the course, they do so with a shared sense of purpose and unity, knowing that together, they are making a profound difference in the lives of those who have bravely served our country. Chenega MIOS Fall Invitational and Brews for the Brave (Virginia)
Each year, Chenega MIOS proudly hosts the MIOS Fall Invitational, followed by the popular Brews for the Brave event, all set at Old Hickory Golf Club in Woodbridge, VA.
The day kicks off at 12:30pm with a shotgun start to the Fall Invitational. Following the tournament, the festivities continue with Brews for the Brave at the clubhouse, which showcases the craftsmanship of five local breweries, who generously offer tastings of their finest brews. Guests also enjoy delectable food, live music, and engaging in lively table games. The overarching goal remains steadfast: to honor our nation's veterans and to raise funds for Vigilant Torch so a meaningful difference can be made in the lives of those who have served our country with bravery and dedication. This noble objective is met and exceeded each year, as evidenced by a generous contribution of over $10,000 raised for Vigilant Torch in 2023 alone.
The next Fall Invitational and Brews for the Brave will be held on October 16, 2024, at Old Hickory Golf Club in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Range Day (Atlanta)
Since 2014, Vigilant Torch has been proud to host its Range Day fundraiser just outside of Atlanta. This event has become a cornerstone of our fundraising efforts, eagerly awaited by our dedicated supporters year after year. Range Day offers attendees a unique and thrilling opportunity to experience a variety of firearms at different shooting stations, all expertly supervised by our team of volunteers and occasionally by active-duty personnel.
The day kicks off with a morning gathering and then participants immerse themselves in three hours of shooting, honing their skills and enjoying the camaraderie. Attendees then reassemble for a delicious BBQ lunch and auction, where items and experiences are up for grabs.
With an average of 32 generous donors in attendance each year, Range Day has proven to be a resounding success, raising well over $100,000 to support Vigilant Torch's vital mission. This event not only provides a thrilling day of outdoor adventure but also serves as a testament to the unwavering support and dedication of our community in honoring and assisting our nation's heroes.

Birdies for the Brave (Atlanta)
Every August, we eagerly anticipate the Birdies for the Brave Golf Tournament, where each threesome has the honor of playing alongside a service member.
Vigilant Torch members and donors consistently maintain a strong presence at this tournament, ensuring its success year after year. Active and retired military personnel are invited to participate in the tournament at no cost. However, please note that availability for military participants is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
There are several avenues for getting involved:
- Become a corporate sponsor
- Sponsor a hole on the golf course
- Play in the golf tournament
Corporate sponsorship opportunities range from $2,500 to $15,000, offering recognition for your generosity, participation in the golf tournament, and tickets to the Friday evening Boots 'n Bling event. We are extremely grateful to Northside Hospital for their continued support as the Title Sponsor.
Following a day of golf on Friday, you are invited to a casual dinner and auction. Last year featured 150 silent auction items and six standout live auction items, including two DeltaOne tickets to any destination worldwide.
Over the past few years, Birdies for the Brave has resulted in three mortgage-free homes donated to wounded veterans, a home renovated for a Wounded Warrior, and over $1 million raised for its supported charities. Vigilant Torch receives one-third of the total proceeds from this event, allowing us to continue our mission to support those who have served our nation.
